The La Mesa Woman’s Club proudly participated in the annual La Mesa Flag Day Parade, joining thousands of community members in celebrating patriotism, civic pride, and the 250th birthday of America.

The La Mesa Flag Day Parade has been a cherished community tradition since 1997, bringing together local organizations, marching bands, floats, and residents to celebrate our nation’s colors and heritage. This year’s parade once again filled La Mesa Village with enthusiasm, community spirit, and patriotic pride.

Our club was honored to be part of this wonderful event. Members walked alongside our club banner and vehicle, handing out American flags and candy to spectators along the parade route. The response from the crowd was overwhelmingly positive, and it was heartwarming to see so many smiling faces, especially the children excited to receive candy and flags.

A special thank you goes to Kathy, Darcey, Lane, Pauline, Margaret, and Amy for walking the route and representing the Woman’s Club so enthusiastically while distributing flags and treats to the crowd.

We also extend our gratitude to Marsha, Pat S., and Pat K. for riding in Jim Childer’s beautiful “Woman’s Club” BMW float and waving to parade attendees throughout the event.

Congratulations to Mary England, as La Mesa Chamber of Commerce President/CEO, had the distinct honor of leading us off as Grand Marshal of the parade. Her leadership and community involvement made us especially proud to have her as a member of the La Mesa Woman’s Club.

The parade provided outstanding visibility for our organization and allowed us to connect with residents throughout the community. The warmth and appreciation shown by the crowd demonstrated the important role local service organizations continue to play in bringing people together.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day such a success. We represented the La Mesa Woman’s Club exceptionally well, and the experience was truly rewarding. It was a wonderful reminder of the strength of our community and the value of service, friendship, and civic engagement.

We look forward to participating again next year!
