Small Acts Create Lasting Change
September reminds us that every new season brings fresh opportunities to grow, learn, and serve. As routines settle in after summer, our Club once again becomes a gathering place where friendships deepen and community impact begins.
Sometimes it’s easy to think meaningful change requires grand gestures. Yet our history tells a different story. For more than a century, women of the La Mesa Woman’s Club have improved lives through countless small acts of kindness and service. Collectively, those efforts have supported education, strengthened local organizations, and enriched the community we proudly call home.
This month I encourage each of us to look for opportunities to make those small differences. Volunteer for an hour. Attend a community event. Reach out to a fellow member you haven’t seen recently. Introduce yourself to someone attending for the first time. These simple actions create the welcoming spirit that defines our organization.
Education has always been one of our priorities, and we remain committed to supporting students through our scholarship program while encouraging literacy and lifelong learning. Investing in young people today strengthens our community for generations to come.
September is also an excellent reminder that every member brings unique talents. Some enjoy organizing events, others prefer behind-the-scenes work, while many contribute through creative ideas, fundraising, or simply offering encouragement. Whatever your gifts may be, there is a place for you here.
As President, I continue to be inspired by the generosity and dedication I see throughout our membership. Together we are preserving a remarkable tradition while creating new opportunities for future members.
Thank you for choosing to be part of this extraordinary organization. I look forward to everything we will accomplish together this fall.
With appreciation,
Kathy Tinsley
President, La Mesa Woman’s Club
