The La Mesa Woman’s Club welcomed guest speakers Jessica Nobles and Janet Perez Turner to its March 11, 2026 General Meeting, where they shared insights into the needs of Bancroft Elementary School and the impact of ongoing community support.
Bancroft Elementary is a diverse, community-centered school serving approximately 420 students. During the presentation, Jessica shared demographic information highlighting the social, economic, and cultural diversity of the student population—underscoring the importance of strong community partnerships to support student success and well-being.
For more than 30 years, the La Mesa Woman’s Club has proudly supported the Bancroft school community through a variety of meaningful initiatives, including:
- Providing Otter Pops as incentives to encourage improved attendance
- Supplying underwear and socks for young students in need
- Donating holiday gifts for families who might otherwise go without
- Contributing books to support classroom learning
This long-standing partnership continues to evolve. Jessica shared that, for the first time, Bancroft Elementary will be creating a school yearbook. To ensure all students can participate in this special milestone, the school is seeking sponsors to help cover costs for those who may not be able to afford one.
The La Mesa Woman’s Club is proud to support this effort and remains committed to making a positive difference in the lives of Bancroft students and their families.
