The La Mesa Woman’s Club welcomed Barb Fiorina, Donor Engagement & Gifts Officer with Support The Enlisted Project (STEP), to our May General Meeting. STEP’s mission is to “combat homelessness, food insecurity, mental health crises, and suicide through improved financial wellness for military and Veteran families.”
The Club has supported STEP in the past and was pleased to participate once again through their Baby On Board program by donating much-needed baby items. As shown in the adjacent photo, our members were extremely generous with donations of diapers, wipes, clothing, and beautiful handmade baby blankets. We celebrated the occasion with an impressive “Baby Shower” complete with delicious cupcakes and pies.
Barb brought us up to date on STEP’s ongoing work and the many ways the organization supports military and Veteran families. Since support for the military community continues to be an important focus for the Club, it was meaningful to learn more about the impact STEP is making in our region.
We are pleased that our donations will help support new military and Veteran families in need.
